Well this year I am getting a head start with my Christmas cards because I have already designed these 20 cards for the class.

To view a larger picture of these cards click on the photo.

Holiday Card Class

This past weekend was my Holiday Card Class. We created 10 cards (5 designs, 2 of each) for Halloween, Thanksgiving, and Christmas.

The first card was using the Scary Skeleton Stamp Set. I just love the skeleton guy.

This is simple and quick card to make for the Halloween season.

Supplies: Elegant Eggplant, Old Olive, Pumpkin Pie, and Whisper White card stock; Pumpkin Pie stripped ribbon; and the Oval Punch and Large Oval Punch.

I have been wanting to purchase the House of Haunts Stamp Set but have yet to purchase it, luckily my Grandma purchased it and she let me use it. Got to love the ability to share with Grandma!

Now I'm not real into the spooky side of Halloween but there is just something about that house that makes me want to create a spooky night card.

Again the layout is super simple. I sponged the sky and the moon with my sponge daubers and it didn't take long for it to look spooky!
Supplies: House of Haunts Stamp Set; Old Olive, Basic Black, Whisper White card stock; Cast a Spell Designer Series Paper; Basic Black, Summer Sun, Going Grey, and Night of Navy Classic Ink Pads; and Sponge Daubers.

My Grateful Card is a total case. I was blog hopping from one blog to the next when I somehow stumbled upon this card. Now
I just wish I could remember where it was I saw it. Anyway I had wanted to use this stamp set for my class and the card was so perfect so I recreated it. I slightly changed it but the layout is copied. Sorry, I'm not always very original.
Cutting out those little leaves was a little time consuming but it was worth it. I wish there was a punch that went along with it.

Supplies: Falling Leaves Stamp Set; Bright Blessings Stampin' Around Wheel; Chocolate Chip, Very Vanilla, Kraft, and Soft Suede card stock; Versa Mark, Soft Suede, and Close to Cocoa Ink Pads; Big Shot and the Hearts and Brackets Die.
One of my newest Stamp Sets from the Holiday Mini Catalog is the Gifts of the Earth Stamp Set. My favorite season is probably Fall, I just wish California had more of a true Fall season so when I saw this stamp set I just had to have it. This stamp set is perfect for coloring.
Again I went with a simple layout but the coloring does take a little while so its best when having my classes to have simple layouts when the card is going to take some time to color.
Supplies: Gifts of the Earth Stamp Set; Water Color Pencils, Blender Pens; Chocolate Chip, More Mustard, Really Rust, and Very Vanilla card stock; Chocolate Chip Ribbon; Autumn Meadows Designer Series Paper

Last but not least was my Christmas card design. A warning must be put out that when tying the elastic cord you may become a little frustrated. Remember it is elastic! It stretches so make sure to use a piece that is big enough and go to work on those little bows. Everyone in class said this card took the longest because of those bows. At least they didn't have to cut out those ornaments because of the wonderful new punch in the mini catalog!
Supplies: Delightful Decorations Stamp Set; Real Red and Very Vanilla card stock; Chocolate chip, Glorious Green, and Real Red Classic Ink Pads; Ornament Punch; Elastic Silver Cord, Sleigh Bells Ribbon; Merry Moments Designer Series Paper.
My next Class will be held on National Card Making Day, October 3rd. We will be making 20 Christmas Cards. I will be posting pictures with in a day or two so check back to see them. make sure to RSVP your spot because space is limited!

Halloween

Last night was Stamp Club and we created three Halloween projects. We made a card with the Sweet Centers Stamp Set, a cute little coffin that holds a miniature candy bar inside, and a diaper fold pouch with some candies inside.

The diaper fold pouch is super easy to make. I used a 6x6 piece of Cast A Spell DSP, Batty for You stamp set, a small cello bag, and a piece of Pumpkin Pie ribbon.

For the Sweet Treat Cup card I used a tutorial by Mike found on his blog. Items used: Cast A Spell DSP, Sweet Treat Stamp Set, Sweet Treat Cups, Pumpkin Pie card stock, Perfect Plum card stock, Whisper White card stock, Basic Black ink pad, 1 3/4 Circle punch, 1 3/8 Circle Punch, and the 1 1/4 Circle Punch.

I found the coffin tutorial on a blog I stumbled upon. Here is the blog link www.symmetrystamps.com. It is a very cute little idea. I used the Batty for You Stamp Set, Basic Grey paper, Basic Black card stock, Whisper White card stock, Scallop circle punch, and the 1 1/4 Circle punch.

The weather is getting a little cooler, still hot but not as bad. I decided to put out my fall decorations next weekend. Yea!!!!!!!!!!!

Oh and before I forget to mention this, we did get a few baby items this weekend since they were on sale. I got my polka dot stroller, play pen, and swing. Yea!!! Can't believe that this is the one the store decided to put on sale, perfect for convincing Eric! Thank you Grandma for your gift.
